Outsourcing projects

While certain people love to rant about how they are able to do everything, others accept that doing everything by yourself is not possible. The are some things you don’t have knowledge about. Other things you may not be good at and things that you don’t like to do. This is why you need to be outsourcing projects; that is hiring outside resources to perform those duties for you.

Who then outsources?

Outsourcing projects

It is you! Are you shocked to hear that you outsource? Did you change the oil in your car? Maybe you can change it, or you don’t just know how to do it. But a lot of people drive to an oil service station to have their oil changed. Those people are efficient, fast and have better equipment than having to jack up your car and lay under it on the pavement about three inches between your face and where you remove the oil. Some people hire someone to clean their house they don’t like to clean it. This is the reason why we outsource projects.

How do you relate this to your website?

Like the example above, you may not have the tools, time and set of skills to manage your site efficiently. Perhaps you write excellently, but get so confused when you happen to set up a website. You can hire someone to monitor your email or moderate your comments or even do research for you.

Are you doing prioritization well?

Outsourcing projects to help you grow your business or allowing you to maximize time with your strengths is a good move. Since you can’t handle all the tasks, you have to use the time to concentrate on your most profitable areas.

How to use your time efficiently

Let me show you an example. A teenager offered to weed your lawn for $20 and you agreed. Notice that it can take 2 hours of your time to weed it. So if you take $15 per hour, which could be $30 of your time wasted. The lad helped you save $10 of your precious time. Now you have $10 profit and 90 minutes available time to spend profitably.

How does this relate to your website?

If you are into creating and selling products online, then concentrate on your selling. A lot of people owning online businesses take about an hour to read emails. That culminates into 7 hours per week. By outsourcing projects you can save 6.5 hours that will help you increase revenue and only spend 30 minutes per week on emails.

What is the implication?

Perhaps 6.5 more hours may not be much time to develop a fresh product. If you outsource your email reading, you would save about 26 hours. And in one year’s time you can have an extra 300 hours at your disposal, which is about 2 weeks. What about having a two week trip to an exotic location outside town?
